Abstract
During puberty, the world of pubic hair has been fought over by the constraints of society, individual tastes, and, quite honestly, a lot of misunderstanding. The cover of magazines shouts in agony concerning who has the perfect bikini line, and locker-room gossip talks smack of the proper method of grooming.
HairCareWeb.com breaks all the norms and brings three women to get real about pubic hair. However, what is it, really, that happens down there? We interviewed three women, Sarah, Sam, and Natalie, and discussed how they have changed their attitude to their pubic hair, and what they have come to know all this time.
Three Women Get Real About Pubic Hair: Younger Days
Among the three women who get real about pubic hair, the roots of Sarah are just like many others, causing her to have a hefty serving of societal pressure surrounding the subject of pubic hair. She was about 15 years old at the time, and she confesses that she simply assumed that everybody else was naked. She says, “It was all in magazines, TV, just this message of smooth as though anything different was unacceptable. I began to shave, then. And straightaway began to regret.”
The first experience was not very glamorous. She had razor burns, ingrown hair, and persistent itching. This is what she laughingly describes as the vicious cycle. Shaving makes you feel good and desirable. However, you have to spend the following seven days in misery and bump-and-cuts.
Sam iterates the same. She adds, “I believe many of us did it because we believed that it was what boys wanted. At least in high school, there was this pressure to fit. And so waxing was an everyday occurrence, although it was costly and, well, so painful!” She terms the waxing process as an evil that has to be endured and gotten through to attain the perceived perception of female beauty.

The Natural Look
Over the years, when the discourse on body image was finally slowly beginning to change, Sarah, Sam, and Natalie came to rethink their grooming patterns.
“I became weary of maintenance,” Natalie shares. “It was a battle that really seemed endless. And to tell the truth, I began to wonder why I was doing it. Did I really justify myself, or was I just doing something to please a third party who does not matter?” This doubt compelled her to explore various fatigues of classy looks and landed her a trimmed, more original appearance.
It is the image of body positivity and living in accordance with nature that appealed to Sarah. She says it took her some time to get over the embedded messaging, but she began letting it grow out. It was very freeing. I was good at skin, and I understood that my partner did not even care!”
It was part of Natalie’s journey. She says that she is no longer waxing religiously, but still prefers things to be tidy. I have discovered that scissors trimming is a decent compromise. It comes across as cleaner than leaving it to run wild, although I do not have to endure one of the irritations of shaving or waxing.”
Practical Tips, Tricks, and Brutal Honesty
Of course, the world of pubic hair hasn’t always been easy for women. Each of these three women had some tips and tricks to share.
Sarah’s experience taught her that exfoliating is important. She says, “It prevents prevent formation of ingrown hair, be it from waxing, shaving, or just keeping natural.”
Sam is a huge fan of trimming scissors. “You have greater control, and it’s less likely to irritate than blades,” she explains. “Just be careful!”
Natalie finds beauty routines to be one’s choice. “Do not let anyone dictate to you what to do with your body hair,” she says. “Just be comfortable and confident with your choices!”
Your Body, Your Choice
What comes out the most as these three women get real about pubic hair is that having dealt with pubic hair is that there is no correct way to handle pubic hair. Whether to shave, wax, trim, or leave it to grow is a choice that only you need to make, and one that will make you comfortable and feel good.
In Sarah’s words, “our bodies are in a constant state of change, and so are our preferences. It is all right to experiment, change your mind, and do whatever makes you feel good.”
Therefore, do not hesitate to think about the wonders of pubic hair anymore. Be sure, next time there is someone as strange and naked as you, with whom you can discuss this problem.
Keep in mind that the most valuable thing is to love your body and make decisions that give you power over it. Disregard the covers of the magazines and the locker room rumors; it is your body, your hair, and your regulations.
